The Surrey Hills Choirs are going to be busy over the next few months. Here’s a list of our upcoming concerts, competitions and other dates.
Jul 1,2018 - Time: 7:45 pm - 10:00 pm
This year we are thrilled to be joined by the award winning ladies choir from Sutton, Impromptu.
As always, we have a very diverse programme for you with something for everyone. A selection of gorgeous sacred classics include some of the choir's favourites - Verbum caro factum est by Hassler; the sublime Ubi Caritas by Gjeilo and the uplifting Psalm 23 by Mendelssohn. If you like something of folk origin, we have some lovely songs from America - Down to the river to pray, the spiritual Ezekiel and the powerful gospel song Total Praise. We then move to England for the hauntingly beautiful arrangement by Hilary Campbell of Blow the Wind and John Rutter's setting of the childhood song Sing a Song of Sixpence, before zipping off to Romania for a fully choreographed and toe tapping rendition of Sirba 'n' Caruta (where everywhere we have performed it phones have come out to video!!) We also will be be debuting our first song from the Baltics, with Dubra's very lyrical Rit Jau Jabut and finally will make you feel very relaxed with the sizzling Summertime and These Foolish Things.
We will share Impromptu's selection as soon as we have the information.
As always, the programme and drink are included in the price and please do note that it is SUNDAY this year with a start time of 7.45pm.
